【Travel Recap】 Autumn Journey: The World Heritage Kumano Kodo

The Only One in the East!!
World Heritage “Kumano Kodo” — A Brand-New Pilgrimage Adventure Team — Let’s Go! ✨

Starting from Hosshinmon-oji, the travelers set out on an autumn journey along the Kumano Kodo.
This is a place of purification and rebirth. Breathing in the crisp mountain air, leaving behind the noise and worries of city life, the travelers can’t help but marvel—light and shadow dance among the trees, sunlight filters through interwoven leaves onto the forest path, and every step feels gently guided by the spirits of Kumano and the embrace of nature. 🍁✨

Along the way, the travelers laughed and chatted, reminding one another of the stone steps and winding turns ahead. Even those who doubted they could finish the journey found themselves smiling with pride, thrilled by their own perseverance. The most heartwarming sight of all was everyone earnestly collecting stamps along the route! With the Dual Pilgrimage Certificate – Japan edition now proudly in hand, we can’t wait to see everyone one day share their stories from the Camino de Santiago in Spain. 🌍✨

At midday, we settled down deep within the forest of the ancient trail, opening beautifully prepared traditional Japanese shojin bento boxes. Every detail reflected such care and aesthetics that we almost couldn’t bear to eat them. The travelers exclaimed how incredible—and rare—it was to enjoy a picnic within a World Heritage site. It felt as if we had returned to nature’s embrace, our breaths and hearts blending seamlessly with the mountain air.

Blessed and purified by the Kumano Sanzan, symbolizing the past, present, and future, the travelers emerged renewed, as if gifted with a fresh chapter in life. We look forward to the next time we step together onto a new pilgrimage path.
