The first stop on New Adventure’s immersive winter journey through Tohoku was Aizu, a town renowned for its samurai heritage. ❄️
Together, our travelers experienced one of Aizu’s most cherished traditions by painting their own Akabeko folk toy. ✨
Don’t be fooled by its adorable appearance—Akabeko has long been regarded as a symbol of protection, good health, and good fortune, and it continues to be treasured as a lucky charm to this day.
Each unique creation became not only a special souvenir, but also a meaningful connection to Aizu’s rich history and cultural traditions.

After learning the story behind the Akabeko, everyone became completely absorbed in designing their own masterpiece! ✨

There were pop art-inspired designs, minimalist styles, sleek modern looks, adorable creations… and even a fashionable Akabeko with glamorous eyelashes!
Each one reflected its creator’s personality, making every Akabeko truly one of a kind.
They were all just too cute! 😍

Some travelers incorporated their own names into their Akabeko, while others painted the word “Happiness” as a heartfelt wish. 💕
Every brushstroke was more than just decoration.
It carried hopes and blessings for their families, for themselves, and for the journey that lies ahead.
Each one-of-a-kind Akabeko became a meaningful keepsake—filled with love, wishes, and heartfelt prayers. ✨

Every Akabeko created on this journey is truly one of a kind.
Each piece is a unique work of art, carrying the personal wishes and blessings of its creator. ✨

Amid the snowy landscapes of Tohoku, New Adventure and our travelers returned home with something more than memories—a sense of warmth, comfort, and the gentle protection of Aizu’s beloved Akabeko. ❤️
